Lake Placid is a unique year-round vacation resort in the heart of the 6 million acre Adirondack Park. The village hosted 2 Olympic Winter Games and is the site for many exiting sporting events throughout the year. A large variety of activities is offered to visitors of all ages. Drive on a paved toll road to the summit of 4867 feet Whiteface Mountain. There are fantastic views around every corner as the road winds upward through the changing forest. From the summit parking area, take the in-mountain elevator to the very top for a truly amazing 360 degree view of the surrounding Adirondack wilderness.
For a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains and valleys, ride the chairlift and elevator to the SkyDeck at the top of the 26 story, 120 meter ski jump tower.
